LocatePC: Salva il tuo PC da un furto!

Inutile negare il fatto che siamo in un periodo in cui anche i furti di PC rappresentano un fenomeno in costante aumento. Non possiamo portare con noi il nostro bel notebook senza perderlo di vista un attimo perchè potrebbe esserci qualche malintenzionato (in treno, in un locale, in auto o anche in ufficio) in agguato per rubarci il prezioso amico! Altrettanto inutile sottolineare come un furto del genere non arrecherebbe solo un danno economico per l’hw in se, ma (almeno il più delle volte) per l’importanza e la mole dei dati in esso contenuti.

LocatePC è un piccolo tool gratuito che, se installato e configurato a dovere sul nostro PC, può darci un’ultima speranza per poter recuperare o rintracciare il dispositivo rubato. Questo piccolo e leggerissimo software può davvero intercettare ogni cambiamento dell’indirizzo IP che è associato al computer e, quindi, di inviarvi una mail preconfigurata che contiene sia tutti i dati relativi al computer (dal modello al numero di serie e simili) e sia un traceroute che può aiutare le forze dell’ordine ad identificare (tramite ISP) l’utenza che ha utilizzato il computer per accedere a Internet.
